How To Install Ubuntu Touch Preview on Nexus Devices

According to new technology you can add Ubuntu touch system on your Nexus devices.Follow the given below simple and easy steps for Nexus devices.

Add the Phablet PPA:
First of all you have to install Ubuntu Phablet PPA Tools on your Nexus device.Login by entering user password when prompted and enter following commands.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:phablet-team/tools
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install phablet-tools android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot

Prepare Your Nexus Device:
When you Install Ubuntu Touch on Nexus deveice it will format your device and wipe all of your data including Android OS on your nexus device.So you should be aware keep backup of all your data like images,musics,videos etc.

Enter Bootloader:

To enter bootloader follow the given below steps.

1). Turn off/shutdown Android on device.

2). Hold in (press) the power button, volume up and volume down keys at the same time

3). Keep holding until you see an up-turned Android image and large text reading ‘Start’

4). Attach the device to your computer using its USB cable

Unlocking Your Device:

Next steps is to unlock your device.

1). Open a new RUN window pressing (Win key +R).

2). Type given below command.

fastboot oem unlock

3).This will unlock your device and allow you to flash the Ubuntu Touch Preview.

4). Accept the terms and let it do its thing.

Reboot Into Android:

We need to USB debugging With your Tablet freshly unlocked we need to re-enter Android .If you’re still at the Android boot loader (upturned Android screen) follow the given below steps.

Press the ‘power’ key next to the ‘Start’ text Inside Android ,USB debugging will be enable by following steps.

1). Open Settings > About Tablet/Phone Tap ‘Build Number’ (at the very bottom) 7 times in a row.

2). Go back to Settings.

3). Click the ‘Developer’ entry

4). Enable USB debugging

if you’re running Android 4.2.2 you’ll now need to restart adb in Ubuntu.

adb kill-server; adb start-server

Now re-attach your Tablet/Phone to Ubuntu using the USB cable. A pop-up will appear asking you to accept a host key.

 You have to accept it If you want to install Ubuntu Touch Preview .

Installing Ubuntu Touch Preview:

To install ubuntu touch preview follow the given below steps.

1). Open “RUN: window and type given below command.

phablet-flash -b

2). Read over the text that appears and, if you’re willing to go ahead, type ‘yes’ and hit enter.

3). Phablet Tools will appear and installing option will appear.Click on this to install.It will wipe all of your data.

Boot Into Ubuntu

After above given steps wait a little bit and boot into Ubuntu.
